Short Description
Ultrasonic fatigue testing machine (20.000 Hz)
Description
- Equipment/ technical data
- Frequency: circa 20.000 Hz (depending on the material)
- Monitoring of resonance frequency, load amplitude and nonlinear ultrasonic measurements
- Requires special specimen geometry
- Material testing at alternating load (R=-1) or in pulsating tensile load
- Testing with constant amplitude or in block strain-program
- Regulation of the specimen-temperature trough pulse-pause operation or active cooling with compressed air
- Methods
- Highly Accelerated determination of fatigue strength data at very high cycles (108 – 109) with a testing frequencies of approx. 20.000 Hz
- Testing of high-cycle charged components using a special specimen geometry
- Short-term diagnostic in relative-comparison – process-variant A compared to process-variant B or material-quality A compared to material-quality B (e.g. non-metallic inclusions, weld imperfections, etc.)
Options of instrument usage
- This instrument is used within a service or research collaboration.
