Expertise
The research of the group focuses on diatoms, which are a large group of eukaryotic microalgae. We apply biochemical, molecular genetic, and cell biological methods to investigate two remarkable biological phenomena exhibited by diatoms: silica biomineralization and underwater adhesion.
