Arbeitsgebiete:
Biosynthesen von Sekundärstoffwechselprodukten bei Bakterien. Isolierung und Reinigung von Enzymen aus Sekundärstoffwechsel-Biosynthesen. Untersuchung von halogenierenden Enzymen und Enzymen, die Amino- zu Nitrogruppen oxidieren. Dabei werden biochemische Methoden wie Chromatographie und Spektroskopie und molekulargenetische Methoden wie Klonierung von Genen und Nucleinsäure-Sequenzierung eingesetzt.
