Expertise

The CIMTT Centre for Production Engineering and Organisation is the competence center for technology transfer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Technology Dresden. At its founding in 1991, the centre began to transfer CIM Technologies (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Meanwhile the centre understands itself as a partner for technology and knowledge transfer between university and regional SMEs.
First of all, for the CIMTT technology and knowledge transfer means, to make new know-how from research organisations quickly available for enterprises, to support its dissemination and implementation in companies and thus contribute to their competitiveness.

An interdisciplinary team of transfer professionals with expertise in the areas of job design, factory layout, production engineering, business administration, industrial psychology, sociology as well as media computer science offers comprehensive services in the preparation and management of collaborative research projects.
The support of collaborative projects ranges from the development of ideas about studies on cost-effectiveness, finding suitable partners from science and industry, assistance with grant application as well as the realisation of collaborative projects in terms of contexts and administration.

The main areas of work are:

  • Transfer Research
  • Transfer of research results from different engineering sciences
  • Work and organisational design in business
  • Process optimization / Factory Planning
  • Knowledge Management / Lifelong learning for SMEs
  • Web-based presentations / learning modules for training and education
