- Grundlagen zum kreativen Entwickeln und Konstruieren in der Gerätetechnik und Überführen in anwendungsreife Lösungen (Vorentwicklung: "Gerätetechnik").
- Anwendung der probabilistischen Simulation und Mehrkriterienoptimierung zur Berücksichtigung von Streuungen und widersprüchlichen Anforderungen im rechnergestützten Entwurfsprozess.
- Entwicklung von Methoden für die Analyse, Synthese und Optimierung von Geräten/Baugruppen auf Basis der numerischen Modellierung, Simulation und Optimierung unter Einbeziehung von Laborexperimenten (Mechanik-Baugruppen, Elektromagnetische Aktoren).
