The research area novel porous materials finds enormous interest worldwide. Porous materials are often characterized by cost- and time consuming determination of the inner surface area via BET measurements. The increasing use of high throughput synthesis processes and thus the high number of samples require a fast simultaneous characterization method for many samples.

In close cooperation with the company Rubotherm, our scientists have developed the measuring device infraSORB. This device determines the adsorption capacity of porous materials, basing on the released heat. Up to 12 samples can be simultaneously measured within few minutes. The most promising sample can be identified and further proceeded.

Together with the company Rubotherm we take great efforts to realize the device into the industrial series production.
