The Analytical Department serves the IPF Dresden e.V. as a center for characterization techniques and expertise, maintaining a diverse variety of instrumentation that is available for the entire institute.

The Analytical Department staff has broad experience in the field of polymer characterization, performs most routine sample analysis for the institute, and assists members of other departments to solve their analytical problems. Training courses for specialized characterization techniques are offered for scientists of the institute and for students of the Dresden University of Technology.

The main research activities of the scientists in the Analytical Department are project-oriented within the main fields of research of the institute. Additionally, fundamental and applied research is conducted for further develop analytical methods for polymer characterization.
