Beschreibung

***********English***********

The Virtual Product is one of the focus areas of DLR research in aeronautics. It generally addresses the digital description of an aircraft with all its properties and components based on highly accurate physical and mathematical models across all disciplines, in every phase of the development process and across the entire aircraft lifecycle. Pivotal elements are the effective use of both, High Performance Computing (HPC) and Data Sciences, and their coalescing.

The over-arching objective of the Institute is the research, development and deployment of innovative and sustainable software solutions for all areas and facets of the product virtualization. This includes research on parallel algorithms and their highly scalable implementation on current and future HPC systems, the development of scalable multi-fidelity & multi-disciplinary software platforms for aircraft analysis and optimization as well as research on dedicated software technologies enabling product virtualization (data analytics, surrogate modeling, integration frameworks, secure software and simulation based certification).

Research Topics

  • Research in parallel algorithms and their highly scalable implementation on current and future HPC systems
  • Research on scalable multi-fidelity & multi-disciplinary software platforms for aircraft analysis and optimization
  • Research on software technologies enabling product virtualization
