The diode Iaser „Rofin DL 031 Q“ is a product from the ROFIN-SINAR Laser GmbH company.

 

The maximal power of the laser at the site of application is through wavelength-linking 3100W: 808 nm and 940 nm, ±10nm. In order to examine the various effects of each wavelength on the material, each wavelength is seperately controlled. In this case, a wavelength of 808 nm and a laser power of 1350W or a wavelength of 940 nm and a laser power of 1750 W.

The radiation from the laser is connected to a 10 meterlang, 1.5 mm thick fiber optic cable. Due to the fact that with diode laser beams, a multiple formed picture of the individual diode stacks is produced, it is possible to compute a geometrically determined intensity distribution. After the fiber, the distribution over a circular surface is nearly constant. According to the nature of the work, lenses were chosen whose images represent relatively large surfaces. These are for the static, tranmissive lenses on the laser focal lengths from 66 mm, (image ca. 0.8x1.3 mm2) , 165 mm (image ca. 2x2.3 mm2) and 500 mm (image ca. 6.1x10 mm2) and after the fiber of 160 mm (image Ø 1 mm), 300 mm (image Ø 6 mm) and 400 mm (image Ø 10 mm). Despite the relatively poor beam quality of the diode Iaser at high-power (here K=0,0014!), an adaptable 20-Scansyst·em on the fiber optic is available.
