Beschreibung

Welcome to the Molecular Imaging and Manipulation Facility!

The Molecular Imaging and Manipulation Facility (MIM) provides high-end imaging and manipulation devices combined with profound knowledge of image and data analysis to identify and characterize structure-function-relationships on a molecular level.

In terms of imaging, this comprises atomic force microscopy (AFM) as well as optical imaging with single-molecule localization-based superresolution (STORM/PALM/...), TIRF, as well as standard widefield epi-fluorescence imaging. Single-molecule techniques like single-particle tracking (SPT) and Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) are offered along with the necessary analysis tools. The Interferometric Scattering Microscopy (iSCAT) technique is especially interesting for label-free detection of biomolecules or high-speed single-molecule tracking. Molecular manipulation is achieved by force application with AFM or optical tweezers.

Apart from user training and technical support the MIM Facility offers measurement service, image-analysis support, as well as customized optical microscopy design.
