Die Professur für Wirtschaftsinformatik insb. Systementwicklung befasst sich in Forschung und Lehre mit der Analyse, Gestaltung und Pflege betrieblicher Informationssysteme, d. h. den informationsverarbeitenden Teilen von Unternehmen der privaten Wirtschaft und öffentlichen Verwaltung. Als Analyseinstrument nutzen wir die Modellierung, die wir darüberhinaus als ganzheitliches Managementinstrument weiterentwickeln. Voraussetzung hierfür ist die Entwicklung von Methoden, welche die systematische Erstellung, Anpassung und Nutzung von Informationsmodellen zum Gegenstand haben.

Die entwickelten Theorien und Technologien werden in verschiedenen Anwendungsbereichen eingesetzt. Diese erstrecken sich unter anderem von der Erforschung von Methoden im Gesundheitswesen über die modellgestützte Implementierung von Energie-, Umwelt-, und Qualitätsmanagementsystemen im industriellen Bereich bis hin zu der Anwendung von Modelltheorien im technischen Umfeld.

Forschung

Als Analyseinstrument nutzen wir die (konzeptuelle) Modellierung, die wir darüberhinaus als ganzheitliches Managementinstrument weiterentwickeln. Voraussetzung hierfür ist die Entwicklung von Methoden, welche die systematische Erstellung, Anpassung und Nutzung von Informationsmodellen zum Gegenstand haben. 

Die entwickelten Theorien und Technologien werden in verschiedenen Anwendungsbereichen eingesetzt. Diese erstrecken sich unter anderem von der Erforschung von Methoden im Gesundheitswesen über die modellgestützte Implementierung von standardisierten Managementsystemen im industriellen Bereich bis hin zu der Anwendung von Modelltheorien im technischen Umfeld. 

Die Vision des Lehrstuhls ist die Einbeziehung der Kompetenz anderer Fachbereiche der TU Dresden und umgekehrt die Bereitstellung der eigenen Kompetenz zur interdisziplinären Problemlösung.

The Chair of Wirtschaftsinformatik, esp. Systems Development focuses on the demand-oriented analysis, design and maintenance of enterprise information systems, namely the information-processing parts of private sector companies and public administration. A special focus lays on modelling and design of information system and management in the health care sector. The chair has been working for several years on the application of those theories of business information systems in health care, working closely together with the practice.

The developed theories and technologies are used in various application areas (with a focus on health care). These include among other things, the research methods in health care over the model-based implementation of the energy, environmental, and quality management systems in the industrial sector to the application of model theories in the technical environment.

Research

We understand business informatics as an interdisciplinary scientific discipline, with theories and methods that can be applied to a wide range of research topics.

As an analytical tool, we use the (conceptual) modelling, which we also develop as a holistic management tool. This requires the development of methods which have the systematic production, adaptation and use of information models for the subject.

The developed theories and technologies are used in different application areas. These include the study of methods in health care, model-based implementation of standardized management systems in the industrial sector and the application of model theories in a technical environment.

The vision of the chair is to include the expertise of other departments at the TU Dresden and vice versa provide their own expertise for interdisciplinary problem solving.
