Wildtiere, deren nachhaltiger Schutz und ihre Nutzung als natürliche Ressource, stellen heute ebenso wie das Mensch-Tier-Verhältnis ein Thema von hoher gesellschaftlicher Bedeutung dar. Unter sich stetig verändernden politischen und sozialen Rahmenbedingungen ist es zwingend die damit zusammenhängenden Probleme zu lösen.
Die Dozentur für Wildökologie und Jagdwirtschaft versteht sich als eine Dienstleistungsorganisation auf den Gebieten der Wildbiologie und Wildökologie, des Wildtiermanagement sowie der Umweltkommunikation und des Naturschutzes.

Unsere Kernkompetenzen liegen in der biologisch-ökologischen Grundlagenforschung und - daraus unmittelbar abgeleitet - einer attraktiven Lehre für Studenten aus dem In- und Ausland. Darüber hinaus begleiten wir auch konkrete Projekte auf dem Gebiet des Management natürlicher Ressourcen oder der Umweltbildung von der Konzeption über anwendungsorientierte Forschung und Entwicklung bis hin zur praktischen Umsetzung.
