Name: Closed Cycle Cryostat für X-Ray diffraction CS202
Manufacturer: Advanced Research Solutions (ARS)
Model: BELSORP-max / ARS CS202
Facility: Chair of Inorganic Chemistry I (AC1)
Partner: Technische Universität Dresden (TUD)
Partner: Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology (IWS)

Short Description

The cryostat is a part of in-house developed automated system, allowed to measure PXRD patterns in situ during the adsorption and desorption of non-corrosive gases in the temperature range 10 – 298 ±0

Description

The Closed Cycle Cryostat for X-ray diffraction CS202 is a part of automated in situ Instrumentation for monitoring the structural changes in crystalline porous materials during the adsorption of gases. The system is developed for use at the Berliner synchrotron BESSY-II and is available for synchrotron users of KMC-2 beamline.

The cryostat is equipped with adsorption chamber, covered with Beryllium dome and therefore allow to measure low-pressure adsorption isotherm and PXRD patterns in parallel.

In addition, the cryostat is available at TU Dresden for ex situ adsorption measurements in connection with BELSORP-max volumetric adsorption instrument and cover the adsorption temperature range from 10 to 298 K, which is often not available if common coolants like liquid nitrogen (77 K), dry ice (195 K) or thermostats (250 – 300 K) are used.
