Expertise

The Advanced Imaging Facilities of CMCB provide access to, and expert training on highly specialized devices within the light microscopy and electron microscopy facilities. Furthermore the molecular imaging and manipulation facility as well as the histology facility complement the offered services.

Advanced Imaging

Electron Microscopy

Electron Microscopy

The EM Facility of the CRTD provides expertise and technology to study the ultrastructure of cell and tissue samples. It offers access to modern sample preparation technology and electron microscopes (TEM and SEM), and provides EM services. More demanding projects can be performed in collaboration with the facility. The facility also develops sample preparation techniques especially for correlative light electron microscopy (CLEM). [details]

Histology

Histology

The Histology Facility of the BIOTEC provides expertise and technology for the histological analysis of tissues, embryos and small animals. It offers access to modern sample preparation technology for paraffin infiltration and embedding, and different types of microtomes for cryo- and room temperature sectioning. It also provides services such as embedding, sectioning, and staining (different histological stains, immunostaining). [details]

Light Microscopy

Light Microscopy

The Light Microscopy Facility provides researchers with high quality imaging systems along with strong support for the design of their experiments. The facility currently comprises more than 20 different systems ranging from high resolution confocals to simple fluorescent video microscopes. Sophisticated image processing can be accomplished on high-end graphics machines. [details]

Molecular Imaging and Manipulation

Molecular Imaging and Manipulation

The Molecular Imaging and Manipulation Facility provides state-of-the-art microscopy applications combined with profound knowledge of image and data analysis to identify and characterize structure-function-relationships on a molecular level. [details]
