Das Institut für Internationale Forst- und Holzwirtschaft widmet sich globalen forst- und holzwirtschaftlichen Herausforderungen in Lehre, Forschung und Technologietransfer. Im Vordergrund steht die Analyse und Entwicklung von waldbezogenen Mensch-Umwelt Systemen auf verschiedenen Skalenebenen, vom Haushalt und Betrieb bis zu Landschaften und Regionen. Die Aktivitäten folgen einem Forschung & Entwicklung (R & D) Ansatz und tragen daher unmittelbar zu Problemlösungen bei.

Alleinstellungsmerkmal hat das Institut in den Forschungsfeldern Forstwirtschaft & ländliche Entwicklung, waldbezogene Organisationsentwicklung und Betriebssysteme sowie auf Waldprodukten und Serviceleistungen basierte Wertschöpfungsketten.

The Institute of International Forestry and Forest Products is dedicated to forestry and forest products related challenges in teaching, research, and technology transfer. The analysis of forest-related man-environment systems at various scale levels from household and enterprise up to landscapes and regions is in the main focus. The activities follow a Research & Development (R & D) approach, thus immediately contributing to problem solutions. Pursuing research in the areas of forestry & rural development, forest-related development of organization and enterprise systems as well as value chains based on forest products and services led to the Institute’s unique setting.
