Expertise

***********English***********

The Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (ICPP) is one of the leading national and international institutions in the field of clinical psychology, psychotherapy and preventive intervention research.

At our research-strong institute, we are equally committed to basic and applied research within the framework of a multi-level approach (neurobiological, cognitive-affective, behavioral and social-interactional levels). We work closely together with other sub-disciplines of psychology, in particular the focus "Cognitive-Affective Neuroscience", as well as with neighbouring medical disciplines in the Medical Faculty.

The Institute's research focuses range from clinical-diagostic, epidemiological, experimental-psychological and neurobiological basic research to translational intervention research.

Our institute covers the entire field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy, including health psychology. Characteristic is the project-related research orientation with various projects regarding:

  • the derivation, development and testing of improved etiological and pathogenetic models for mental disorders,
  • the investigation of the connection between various mental disorders and mental disorders and somatic diseases,
  • research into electrophysiological and neurobiological changes as mechanisms and risk factors for mental disorders
  • the derivation of improved diagnostic methods and models,
  • the derivation, development and evaluation of improved intervention principles in therapy and prevention
  • the derivation, testing and implementation of new care strategies and models.
